NEWS FROM THE AREA FIRST ANNUAL FLINT RIVER ART SHOW CITIZENS BAND TOGETHER TO REMOVE FALLEN TREE SALE CITY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FALL FESTIVAL Please sign our guestbook and say hello. |
We drove around Thomasville looking for an agent. We went to one office that was open and this nice young man showed us several places. Apparently we were not spending enough money to really keep his interest. We ended up finding a wonderful man from Century 21 in Thomasville. Jessie showed us property all over the place. Finally, I had found a place in Sale City during an internet search. Nobody had heard of Sale City at the Century 21 office, but Jessie's son did a search and found the place. It was about 45 minutes from Thomasville and outside of their 'territory' but Jessie drove us there and we fell in love with the place. We have 7 acres literally in the middle of cotton fields. We have a beautiful home, a 1950 TO-20 Ferguson tractor and a lot of weird bugs, most of which are outside [thank goodness]. We have the best neighbors and have made a lot of friends. Since moving here, I have changed bases several times. Instead of going to Tampa, I went to Duke Field Air Force Base in Florida. I was there for a short time and then transferred to Warner Robins. I received a promotion to Master Sergeant at the beginning of October and we are very happy about that!! I also joined Toastmasters and volunteered to be the official Secretary for our club. This will help me become a better speaker for Mach 1 Audio, as well as for the Air Force.
Tom has been a lot busier here than he thought he would be in the middle of the fields. He volunteered to be a 'window washer', as he told his mother, at the Flint RiverQuarium in Albany. He is not really a window washer. He scuba dives and feeds the fish in the "Blue Hole" for the people to watch. He also does maintenance dives where they scrub algae off the rocks and windows [See, he really IS a window washer, mom!!] I also volunteered to dive there, but the fish are really big and kinda scare me a little bit. **grins sheepishly** Check out the video I shot of Tom feeding them and see why!! At one point, his whole hand, to his wrist, is in the mouth of a striped bass!!!! Good thing bass don't have sharp teeth! Tom has also shot videos for the Georgia Pharmacy Association, The Camilla Lion's Club, The Camilla Rotary Club, and several other things I can't remember at the moment. Needless to say, he has been busy. He also just finished editing a new video for the Mach 1 Audio library called, "Florida's Best Shore Dives". He put together a video montage for a friend's retirement ceremony from the Air Force Reserve at Duke Field. Tom says that I have to stop writing now because this is sounding like a 'bad Christmas letter'. **hee hee hee** We just wanted to take a few minutes to answer the 'why did we move here' question. We also wanted to share the Festival video and show you why we love living in Sale City!! And we wanted to write a little bit about what we have been doing since we moved here. We hope you have enjoyed the video clips we've tucked in here!! So now you know why we moved here and you have heard a bunch of stuff from us -- now we would love to hear from you! If you have any pictures, stories or news of things going on around Sale City and you would like us to post them, you can send them to: salecity@mach1audio.com Love, hugs and smiles,Tom and Sheryl Go to part 2 |
