NEWS FROM THE AREA FIRST ANNUAL FLINT RIVER ART SHOW CITIZENS BAND TOGETHER TO REMOVE FALLEN TREE SALE CITY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FALL FESTIVAL Please sign our guestbook and say hello. |
Tom and I visited the parade in Sale City, Georgia on October 20, 2007. The town often has festivals, parades or other events but this is the first one I was able to attend. I was surprised that so many people were there because it is such a small town -- it is very nice to see everyone coming out and being so supportive. It was a lot of fun and a wonderful parade. Tom was kidding with Wendy [at the post office] saying he wanted to drive his tractor in the parade. She told us that if you are in the parade the tradition is to take candy and throw it to the kids. Many people did throw candy to the 'kids' -- yes, I got a piece or two also. One of the guys was throwing baseball caps and I got one of those too. They also had a street dance that evening, but we were unable to attend. |
