In August 2007, Tom and I were invited to attend a "Hail
and Farewell" at the Officer's Club on base. There was delicious
food and beverages to enjoy while everyone just meandered around
the room to meet other new people and said good bye to those
leaving.
Each unit's representative stood at the podium and introduced
each of their members and told a little story about each one.
Major General Allan R. Poulin, the AFRC Vice Commander at Robins
Air Force Base, was also front and center greeting each person.
Tom brought the video camera and recorded the event for posterity.
The sound quality is not the best, but I am so happy that Tom
went out of his way, yet again [Thank you, Tom!!]. I watched
the video again after working every day for 2 months at the base
and I was surprised by how many people I saw every day were also
new. It was a lot of fun and I am hopeful that the 'powers that
be' know what a nice ritual this has become.
Colonel Gary Blaszkiewicz was the speaker for our group. Technical
Sergeant Shawntell Miller and I were there being introduced from
our office.
